Briefly describe your symptoms and the medical condition that brought you to see the doctor.

I had horrible hip pain and severe osteoarthritis in both hips. Because of this I was in constant pain day and night. I came to Dr. Sassoon for a hip replacement.

What one or two things stand out to you about your experience with your doctor and their team?

When I first met Dr. Sassoon he was so warm, personable, and human. I immediately trusted him. Even though he may be young, he is very professional-- I had no worries about his abilities and judgement. He is so observant: he doesn't look at you like a patient, but as a person. This is something so rare in a medical professional.
After my first surgery, my hip had recovered very rapidly but my other hip was still giving me a lot of pain. Dr. Sassoon offered to do my second surgery, even though it could've been hard to do so soon, because he recognized how much pain I was in. The second surgery was just as successful as the first, and I had a healthy recovery. Each time I went for a follow-up appointment I continued to feel his warmth and care. He just cares about people: in his own words he told me, "I like to help people feel better."

Briefly describe your symptoms and the medical condition that brought you to see the doctor.

I have arthritis in several of my joints, after 22 years of working in a correctional facility. My knees were getting to the point where I couldn't decide which one to limp on! Stairs, 12-hour shifts on concrete floors, a few altercations over the years, and my left knee finally made the decision for me.

What one or two things stand out to you about your experience with your doctor and their team?

My husband had recently had a total shoulder replacement through the U of W Ortho Clinic, and his doctor did an amazing job, considering what he had to work with - so I asked for his recommendation on a knee surgeon. He initially referred me to Dr. Seth Leopold, who I flew down to Seattle to see (I live in Alaska). Then it got amazing.... Dr. Leopold saw me, and determined I needed only a partial knee replacement. He recommended me to Dr. Adam Sassoon, who specializes in partials. Then, since I'd flown all that way to get seen, he pulled out his cell phone at 3pm on a Friday, called Dr. Sassoon PERSONALLY and pulled in a 'favor'. Dr. Sassoon saw me about an hour later, examined me, and we set up the surgery. I was amazed at how smooth the entire set up was!!

Briefly describe your symptoms and the medical condition that brought you to see the doctor.

Had knee replacement in 2012 went well for a year and a half. Then started having trouble and my Dr. could not find a problem. After a mri and more xrays and still no results, my Dr. referred me to the UW Medicine. There after just looking at the xrays , the Dr. saw that the replacement was coming loose.

What one or two things stand out to you about your experience with your doctor and their team?

How they were concerned about your problem, not just the Dr. but also his physician assistant (in my case Nathan Summers)They explained the xray to me so I could see the problem. And they explained to my wife and I what they were going to do to fix my knee.

Briefly describe your symptoms and the medical condition that brought you to see the doctor.

I initially had my hip looked at by three different doctors and got two opinions: resurfacing, arthroscopic and the third opinion said either.

Five years after that it was as bad as ever. Went to UW Sports Medicine and saw Dr. Sassoon. He confirmed a previous total-replacement diagnosis.

What one or two things stand out to you about your experience with your doctor and their team?

They were very factual about what I was facing and didn't sugar-coat the issues. They were able to explain to a non-surgeon what had to be done, before, during, and after the procedure.
